Explore the Winelands in a Triumph TR3

What could be better than a day in the Cape Winelands? Renting a classic car and taking a drive into the sunlit valleys of Stellenbosch or Franschhoek will always be a blissful day to remember.

Rent a Classic Car

Start your day trip by organising your classic vehicle. Classic Wheels in Cape Town offers a range of classic cars. All the cars are lovingly maintained and in great condition, but their Triumph TR3s are particularly beautiful. Classic Wheels has 1955, 1957 and 1958 models available. The flashy red convertibles are a joy to ride and the scenic roads of the Western Cape are a stunning location for a cruise.

Stellenbosch

The historic town of Stellenbosch is one of South Africa’s main wine producing areas. However there is more to Stellenbosch. The second oldest European settlement in the Cape has an interesting history and many of the Cape Dutch style buildings date back to the 1700s. The University of Stellenbosch is also one of South Africa’s leading universities and was established in 1866. The student community influences the town’s character, so you will find many trendy cafés and lively night time hangouts.

The wine farms in the area are too many to name, but most of them offer wine tastings and delicious snacks. Your best bet is to take a drive through the area and just visit the farms that take your fancy.

Franschhoek

Franschhoek was founded by Huguenot settlers in 1688 and the French influence is still ubiquitous. Not only do estates and people still carry French names, but Franschhoek has inherited two of France’s passions – good food and wine. 8 of the country’s top 100 restaurants are in this little village making it the gourmet capital of South Africa. The Franschhoek wines are grown in romantic settings with quaint Cape Dutch farm houses opening their doors to visitors.
